Lab 7 User Login Mangement

• THE PURPOSE

Increase security from hacker attacks

• BASIC CONCEPTS

User management is useful for the maintenance, checking, addition, subtraction, etc, for a particular purpose

• CONFIGURATIONS

1. Change User Identity

Sign in to winbox and select System-Identity

replace a identity with your name and click OK

if already see the top of winbox, if successful it would appear your name

2. Changing user "Admin" can only be accessed by a specific IP address and add a user

go to System-user

then click 2 times on the admin user , change allowed address to the existing address on your pc, this means that only the IP address of our pc are allowed to enter.

for add a user , click icon + enter the name used to log in and get into full group, click ok

try to change the ip pc into 21.21.21.3 then login to winbox

it will display a message errror

  let us change the ip on pc into 21.21.21.2, try re-login winbox, it will succeed..

3. Change Port Login Telnet

go to IP-Services

then select a telnet,change this port .

enable a telnet in client with the way in this picture

entered into cmd

login telnet as usual, certainly will not be login. Because the port has been changed

add to that the telnet port on the back of ip example I enter port 2110

try login admin in telnet

try to log in again with the user billy that you created earlier
